Day of Hope Golf Outing

Hello -

I just finished playing in the Second Annual Day of Hope Golf Outing at Bayonne Golf Club. The event raised approximately $100,000 for the American Cancer Society of Metro New Jersey. The Day of Hope golf tournament attracts golfers from across the country. Day of Hope was started by Jeff Dorman an American Cancer Society supporter and former Deutsche Bank executive .

My best friend Gene Derkack is a Development Director for the American Cancer Society. Gene and I got really creative and found a way for me to not only play in the event but help raise funds. We came up with what we called "The Raja Bell Par 3 Challenge". Golfers were able to donate $250, $500 or $1000. I pledged to match any donation that was made by a golfer that held the green. Thank you to the golfers that participated in this program, we raised approximately $20,000 to help the American Cancer Society's lifesaving efforts.
