Thanks for your question.
Q: Hey Raja, I miss watching you play for the Suns but happy you are doing well with the Bobcats. What are your thoughts on Isiah Thomas taking the coaching job at your alma mater, FIU?
Asked by Harrison / Chapel Hill
Raja: Harrison - thanks for keeping up with the Bobcats in Chapel Hill. Isaiah Thomas is one of the greatest NBA players in the history of the league. I think his style of play and his experience will help him with recruiting and taking the FIU basketball program to the next level.
Q: Raja - man, i've been calling, begging, pleading with the NBA store, Bobcats online store, to get your Bobcats jersey up. I'm the first in line for one of you new jerseys. Any idea on when those will be available?
And, are you on twitter?
Asked by Cory / Phoenix
Raja: Cory - Thanks for trying. I don't know when the Bobcats will have my jersey up. We created some jersey t-shirts in my RajaBell.com store but we don't have the authentic ones. I am not on Twitter or Facebook. I may look into it this summer but right now I just want to finish the season strong.

Q: Hi Raja! I want to ask you about defence. You are good defender. How to be player like you?
Asked by Vitalijus/Lentvaris
Raja: I always say that defense in 30% physical and 70% mental. For the physical you can work on leg strength and foot speed. The other 70% is desire and attitude. You have to take pride in stopping someone. If you are willing to work as hard as you can on every possession you can be a good defender
Q: Raja! I'm the kid from minnesota who you ended up giving your shoes to.. just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate it! You've got to be the classiest guy in the NBA. Raja: Thanks for coming out and supporting us! Getting a chance to play for coach Brown again has been great. He is a fantastic coach! I grew up a huge Bulls fan so to get to work with MJ has also been a great experience. Charlotte is a great town and my family and I really enjoy living here. We hope we stick around for a while also. For now I have one more year on my current contract.

Q: RAJA!!! I can't believe you are gone from Phoenix :( You were my FAVORITE player! I never did get to see a game while you were here, but I wish I had. I would have oved to meet you and maybe get an autograph :) My questions to you is: What did they do with all of the Raja Bell Suns stuff? Jerseys and such. Are they destroyed when a player leaves the team or do they get sold? I am interested in purchasing some of your old stuff if I can. I have one jersey, but I would like more :) Good Luck with the new team. I will miss seeing you with the Suns, but maybe we'll be able to see you with the new team :) ¢¾¢¾¢¾
Asked by Angela / Mesa AZ
Raja: Thanks for the support. I don't know what the team did but I think the items left are probably in the team store. I am still selling my old jersey on Raja Bell.com along with other items. Check it out.
Q: You should come down to Arcadia its 20 miles out of downtown LA. It's a really nice place .
My actual question: im a freshman at my High school and i need your help. I am too a three point shooter and a defender but the coaches at my school cut me. What adivce would you give for me on how to improve my shooting (three pointers or regular) and defending skills? All help will be awesome.
Asked by Arcadia
Raja: Sorry to hear that you were cut from the team. That's unfortunate but not the end of the world. I have been cut from several teams and always tried to use it as extra motivation. Shooting is all about repetition. Get in the gym and shoot until you can't shoot anymore. As far as your "D" goes, try to use drills and exercises that work on your footwork and foot speed. Jumping rope is good, doing ladders is great and lane slides are also very good for footwork.
Q: Hey Raja, Just wanted to say going to miss you playing for the Sun's. Which team are you getting transfered to?
Asked by Lataya/New Mexico
Raja: Thanks for your support. I am playing for the Charlotte Bobcats now.

Asked by Scott
Raja: Thank you! I appreciate your support!

Raja: Yes. Check it out www.shopmoodyblues.com for more information. Moody Blues in Scottsdale and Chandler. It is a great place.
Q: Hey Raja, Wish you were still with the Sixers. What were your best moments in Philly?
Asked by Delaware
Raja: Thanks for the love! Philly and the Sixers will always hold a special place in my heart! The Sixers were willing to give me a shot when no one else would. Going to the Finals that first year and being able to share that experience with my family was a dream come true. Most of my favorite moments were during that playoff run. I just remember that one day I could walk thru the King of Prussia mall and not be noticed and the next day I was being mobbed in the very same mall! Much love to Philly!
Q: hey raja!!! i'm an all out lakers and kobe fan but when i saw u playing, i became a suns and raja fan too. i actually named my dog after u... and its puppy after ur son dia. i hope ur ok with it. my question is: how is ur team preparing for the coming nba season? the west is really tough... there's kobe and the lakers and chris paul and the hornets. thanks... and god bless.
Asked by jedz/philippines
Raja: It means a lot that you would think enough of me to name your dogs after my son and I. It's not everyday that an all out Lakers fan tells me they are also a fan of mine....Come to think of it this is a first! I do appreciate it. Our team has been working very hard this summer in preparation for the upcoming season. We know first hand just how hard the West will be. I personally have been in Miami working with my shooting coach and strength and conditioning coach so that I can be ready when training camp rolls around.
Q: Hey Raja, I've noticed that your website plays a lot of the "Soulquarian" "Native Tongue" type music. I just wanted to know if these were the type of artists (Mos Def, Common, Talib Kweli) that you listen to. Thanks.
Asked by Larry
Raja: No doubt Larry! I have a very eclectic mix of music that I listen to. You could catch me listening to Cold Play one day and The Poison Clan the next. My music choice changes with my mood. I would say that the beats on the site are ones that I listen to all the time, no matter what the mood.
Q: Are you really checking this or is someone checking it for you?
Asked by Laiken/Arizona
Raja: I check my fan mail and I respond as often as I can.
Q: Why did you choice the number 19? P.S. you have the same birthday as me...lol
Asked by Samantha/ Bronx
Raja: Well Samantha, I wore number 11 when I played in Philly and Dallas. When I got to t he Utah Jazz 11 was already being worn by someone. As you already know my birthday is Sep. 19 combined with the fact that I wore 19 in the CBA and it worked GREAT for me...It was a no brainer! Happy BDAY on the 19th!
Q: Raja, im about to start on the Girls varsity team at tempe high school for the 3rd year in a row, my teammates look up to me...During the i feel a need to show emotion, sort of like u do but can't. Where does all your emotion come from and how can i display mine?
Asked by Jade/Tempe
Raja: First of all good luck to you and all the young ladies on your team this season. Having people look up to you is a very cool thing because it means that you have earned their respect. However, a lot of responsibility comes along with that. If you are the leader people will take their cues from you. A good leader leads by example, so if you don't wear your emotions on your sleeve don't worry.(there are times that I wish I didn't) Lead them by practicing hard all the time, by showing up on time, by respecting and listening to your coach. Do your best to encourage people when they aren't performing at their best. And most importantly if you are their leader, never let them see you give up! If you don't believe how can you expect them to.

Q: Hello Raja,
Just had a question regarding the om tattoo on your arm. What is the significance of the tattoo? I am Hindu and was curious how you are familiar with the symbol.
Thanks in advance
Asked by Sahil (Toronto)
Raja: I became familiar with the symbol after learning about Hinduism in a religion class. As I understood it the om was the original sound. The sound of all creation and it represents God and the oneness of all creation. I also read that some believe that while meditating and using the Om, one can find enlightenment. I am always interested in becoming more enlightened so the symbol seemed like a perfect fit.
